Stolichnaya® expanding in local market - four new flavours

Responding to the increasing popularity of flavoured vodkas worldwide and in Latvia, Stolichnaya® expands its' line in the domestic market with three flavoured vodkas:  Stoli® Wild Cherri, Stoli® Chocolat Razberi and Stoli® Salted Karamel, as well as a light vodka with reduced alcohol content (20%)  - Stoli® Red. Despite the decrease of the total vodka market in Latvia, sales of  Stolichnaya® in the local market last year increased by 33%.

„Flavoured vodkas were the most rapidly growing category of strong alcoholic beverages in the world in 2011, achieving 23% increase in this category. Under the influence of global trends, flavoured vodkas with unusual flavours – such as the contrasting sweet and salty caramel, chocolate-raspberry or jalapeño flavours – are at the height of popularity in the world of fashionable drinks. We anticipate that the Latvian market is also currently open to such vodkas like Stoli® Chocolat Razberi or Stoli® Salted Karamel, which now are available in the local market ”, says Dana Hasana, Head of Communications  JSC „Latvijas balzams”.

Representative  of „Latvijas balzams” indicates that Stoli® flavour development is very much  defined by the demand in the United States of America (USA), which is the largest consumption market for this vodka. It demand of exotic flavour combinations has influenced the fact that the Stolichnaya® selection currently contains 16 different flavours.

„In response to the increasing demand for sweeter beverages with lower alcohol content, which is the latest trend in Europe, this year we are also introducing 20% vodka Stoli® Red for the local market,”  continues Dana Hasana.

According to data from product distributors in Latvia - „SPI Distribution”, sales of Stolichnaya® in Latvia last year increased by 33%, compared to 2011. The owner of the Stolichnaya® brand, SPI Group, referring to the Drinks International Millionaires Report, states that in 2011  Stolichnaya® sales in the world increased by 8% and it has become the fifth largest international vodka brand.

The first flavoured Stolichnaya® vodkas were introduced in 1996, affirming positions in the flavoured vodka market with such flavours as peach, coffee, raspberry and cinnamon. Stoli® Chocolat Razberi and Stoli® Salted Karamel are new products in the exclusive series „Sweet Indulgence”. Stoli® Chocolat Razberi is flavoured premium vodka with a sweet, juicy raspberry and velvety chocolate flavour combination. On the other hand, Stoli® Salted Karamel is fine vodka with a light salty and creamy caramel flavour.

The offer of flavoured vodkas in Latvia will be supplemented also by Stoli® Wild Cherri, which will be the official party drink for the upcoming Riga Fashion Week. This beverage’s flavour bouquet is formed by a rich cherry taste, supplemented with notes of soft vanilla and red plum.
