Products offered by AS Latvijas balzams receives four world-renown international prizes

New version of Riga Black Balsam with black currant flavour which is already known in many countries has received three prizes this year in the most prestige alcoholic beverage contests.

“The recognition gained by Riga Black Balsam is confirmed by more than 50 international prizes it has won. Therefore we are truly proud that the latest addition to our product portfolio, Riga Black Balsam version with black currant juice, can also pride itself with success among world-renown alcoholic beverages as it has already gained three so important prizes in world-renown competitions”, the production director of AS Latvijas balzams Ronalds Zarinovs  is especially pleased with success of Riga Black Balsam Currant.

 On the international competition The Liqueur Master 2011 in London the independent jury awarded silver medal to Riga Black Balsam Currant for the taste in the category Herbal Liqueurs and Bitters and gold medal in the category Design and packaging. The Liqueur Master 2011, within the competition series The Spirit Master, is one of the most prestigious competitions in the alcoholic beverage industry and Riga Black Balsam Currant debuted there to try its abilities among the best alcoholic beverage brands from all over the world.

At the same time Riga Black Balsam Currant has surprised with its uniqueness the evaluators of ne more prestigious forum – the International Wine&Spirits Competition in Great Britain. Riga Black Balsam Currant was recognised as the best in its class there by receiving the silver medal in the category Flavoured alcoholic beverages. This was the best product in the respective category. No gold was awarded. When inquired for references on key to success of Riga Black Balsam Currant the competition organisers emphasize: “Very pleasant, nostril-warming balsam tones are sensed in the aroma of Riga Black Balsam Currant. Taste palette is very balanced with surprisingly perfect aftertaste.

 Moreover, Grand Cavalier, which is brandy No.1 in Lithuania, was awarded a silver medal in the Brandy category on this prestigious competition. Its balanced taste is acquired by uniting selected wine spirits of Azerbaijan and France. Grand Cavalier is not only a leader in Lithuania, but it is fancied also in Poland, Russia, Great Britain and now in Estonia, too.

Though producers of alcoholic beverages from 82 countries of the world participate in the International Wine&Spirits Competition regularly since 1969, AS Latvijas balzams was represented there for the first time. This competition is deemed to be the most prestigious wine and spirits competition in the world; its prizes are one of the most highly evaluated prizes in the alcoholic beverage industry. The winners of the competition are determined by a jury from 250 specialists from all over the world after strict two stages of evaluation – professional closed tasting and detailed chemical and microbiological analysis.
